The trainees of Don Bosco Tech (Kokar, Ranchi) came together on January 25, 2020, at 10:00 am to celebrate ‘National Voter's Day.’ There were 63 trainees, accompanied by the trainers, who participated in the event.

“Government of India decided to celebrate January 25 every year as ‘National Voters’ Day.’ It was decided to commemorate from January 26, 2011, to mark the Commission’s foundation day,” said Arvind Vipin Topno (Trainer, Center Coordinator). The main purpose of this auspicious occasion is to encourage active participation in casting vote, facilitate and maximize new franchise. Dedicated to the voters of the country, the Day is marked to spread awareness among voters. The slogan 'No Voter to be left behind' has been coined to emphasize the focus on inclusiveness.

The participants were also explained about the lack of interest in the enrollment of the electoral rolls. This is precisely, because of which, as a reminder, this initiative has been undertaken. Casting vote is the mandated right of every Indian national. This is extremely important, in a democracy, where we elect responsible and competent representatives for the people.

The trainees expressed a sense of empowerment, pride, and inspiration to exercise their franchise. In the end, they took a pledge to mindfully exercise their power and right to vote.
